Port of Kaş
Picturesquely the town of Kaş, the antique Antiphellos, caresses a bay on the Lycian peninsula. With the hills of the Akdag mountain range at its back and the green coast and turquoise sea to its sides, Kaş has retained its original charm remote from mass tourism. The town situated between Antalya (190km) and Dalaman (150km) is still one of the most beautiful and appealing locations with a feeling almost comparable to that of an island. Very close to shore is the small Greek island Kastelloriz (turk. Meis), the nearest eastern inhabited Greek island.
Lanes with Greek houses and small shops, the odd sarcophagus, the well-preserved amphitheater with a fantastic view of the bay, the impressive hillside tombs, and the innumerable cafés and tea houses let each and every visitor enjoy the Mediterranean lifestyle. Also divers, sailors, paragliders, hikers and mountain bikers have discovered the town for themselves, valuing the individual atmosphere. As a result Kaş has become the center for sport aficionados along the Lycian coast. It is in the wonderful old port where our Gulet “Elpis” sets sail and starts a “Blue Cruise”.
